Looks fantastic. One of the rarer model production PMI pistols. This might be the nicest you'll ever see of this model.
Manual has date of 5/1/87 which is likely accurate. The pursuit pistol came out right around the same time as the Tippmann SMG 60, which Jeff and David funded.
At the time, Jeff was the president of PMI, and David was the president of Tippmann Pneumatics Inc.
So when Dennis Tippmann integrated the soda stream asa valve into the back bottle on his Tippmann SMG 60, Jeff had Sheridan add the option of a side tap and cast steel back bottle asa on his current paintguns including some Pursuit pistols and eventually the PMI Magnum which came out shortly after.
Unfortunately, Tippmann couldn't keep up with early production on the asa components (valves), so many Pursuit Pistols shipped with standard back caps and no asa back bottles / tanks.
This is why Pursuit Pistols were factory side tapped from Sheridan, so they could take the steel backbottle adapters even though most were not equipped for them.
Great looking pistol. Amazing piece of history for a PMI / Sheridan collector. Possible the nicest Pursuit Pistol in existence?
